This is quick to make, and with no added sugar, provides a burst of flavor and crunch and is sure to be a hit at any gathering. If you ever crave for dessert or a sweet snack but don’t want to have a sugar rush, give this a try.
Heat ghee in a small kadai (pan). Add almonds and roast on medium heat for 2-3 minutes until slightly browned. If you have a dehydrator or the time, you can soak the almonds in filtered water for 8-10 hours, and dry them before roasting. This makes the goodness in almonds more bio-available.
Slit the date, remove the pit, and insert 2 roasted almonds into each date.
Press the date slightly so the slit closes. Warn your guests not to spit out the almonds, mistaking them for the pit!! It has happened at my house. Eat as a snack or serve as dessert.
