Heat ghee in a pan and add cumin seeds and chana dal.
As the cumin seeds start crackling, add rice rawa and stir until it is very lightly browned.
Add water, salt, mix well and cook for 7 to 9 minutes, ensuring all water evaporates and no lumps remain. Transfer to a large plate and allow it to cool.
